Stitch & Pitch at CitiField

We Did It!
We set the Guinness World Record for Most People Crocheting Simultaneously at CitiField this past saturday. A total of 427 crocheters came out on a hot day to help accomplished this and to keep the festivities in tune the Marlins let the Mets win *Yankee Fan ;)*.  Most of us worked on a project in the Mets colors of orange and blue yarn; I was in a rush and should have brought my pink project to tip the scale or better yet my Yankee Afghan ;).

More than 650 people signed up for this year's Stitch & Pitch. We all went home with two Mets promo bags. It was sports day at the ball park and the Stitch & Pitch crew got a nifty tote bag. Most of the people didn't know how to crochet so Deborah Norville gave a quick lesson. My sister in law made a long chain because what she's good at is knitting; the good thing is that is counted for the record! I spend the game disentangle two hanks of yarn since my sister-in-law had the bright idea of letting my 5 year old help her.

As a thank you to all who came, Deborah Norville is offering a discount on her yarn. Enter the GOMETS coupon code for 15% discount at Premier Yarns.
