Merry Christmas
Last night we went to my coworkers house to have dinner, since my family went to the Dominican Republic for the holidays. Since my husband has two jobs now it was going to be a sad Christmas day, because it was going to be only Jonah and me on Christmas morning.
At two in the morning my husband woke me up to wish me a Merry Christmas before going to work or so I though. He actually woke me up to tell me that he has taken the day off on his morning Job. He had me fool all this time. I woke up and wrap his present and put it under the tree, talk about leaving everything for the last minute
We dress up Jonah on his Christmas PJ's and he woke up at 9am to open his presents.
My plans for the day change drastically. Jonah open all his present today, yes my husband insisted since we won't be seen each other until Wednesday. I oblige and I will be celebrating the 12 days of Christmas in another way.
We have brunch at our local diner since neither one of us wanted to cook. I spend the afternoon crocheting away his afghan and he playing and napping.
January 6, we will get together at my mom's house and we will give the rest of the present there. I will present my grandmother with her afghan. It has been sitting for weeks since I ran out of yarn. I am going to go with another brand and finish it up.
It has been a wonderful Christmas. Wishing all of you Peace in the upcoming year.

Gift Wrapping
Yesterday I finish my gift wrapping Jonah's present and now I have to watch that he doen't take them from under the tree.
I can wait to see his face during the 12 days of Christmas. Yes we celebrate things here a little bit different.
Stocking for Dec. 25 and one present gets open during the following 12 days until Jan 6 This is when the Three Kings arrived at the menger.
Since Jonah is only 2 I have a Theme for him this year "Blues Clues"

Jonah's First Movie at a Theater
I took my husband and my son last night to see Happy Feet and it was one of the best movies I ever seeing. It was the first time Jonah went to a movie theater which it was a pain until we got him some popcorn and juice.
The message the movie sent was great since it make you think how other animals in this planet sees us "Aliens" and what their behavior may be trying to tell us.

Update
My birthday was on August 17. My coworkers took me to dinner and drink after work. We have a wonderful time and a lot of laugh about things that happen in the office.
I participated in the Needlework Show early this month and it was great for being the first time. I got pick up my 12 shops which is a big step for me as a designer.
I received this pass week a package from one of my Secret Sister Exchanges and I was so surprise for the amount of thing she sent me and disappointed because it was all wrap on as Christmas present and I won’t be able to get my hand on them until Dec. 25.

DMC Variations
I finally got my hands on these threads.
My husband surprise me tonight after coming back from his class at A.C. Moore with these
He make sure I didn't have this among all the overdye and hand dye in my stitching area. The therads are top noch DMC quality and soft as the regular contton threads. Of course quality control (Jonah) have to come and make sure they where the real deal, before going to bed. I already have a project ready to be stitch with 4130.

The Three
Hello and welcome to Desafío! My name is Letty. I live in Briarwood, NY with my husband/best friend, Jonathan, and our son, Jonah, who just happens to be the apple of our eyes.
The name Desafío means challenge in Spanish. I love finding new ways to make our home fun and beautiful while spending as little money as possible. This often involves revamping dollar store items or re-purposing things I find around the house. You will find a little bit of everything here - all with the purpose of turning a house into a home, through crafts, decorating, organizing, and of course recipes because you can't make yourself at home without having something delicious to eat.
I started this blog way back in 2006 (that's a pretty long time in blogging years!) to share my growing craft obsession and document the happening in our family, but it have morphed into a more eclectic/geeky/quirky/whatever-I-like-at-that-moment kind of blog.
